L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green and black tea and some mushrooms. Several studies have shown that a hot cup of tea not only relaxes the mind, but does so without causing drowsiness. Paired with caffeine, L-Theanine may help increase focus and attention. One study showed relief for people who usually experience a rise in blood pressure when stressed.
